Stani's SR20 Micra Build

Love the work..wish I had the time and patience more so for a project like this..a proper sleeper..

Cheers and im not a very patient guy but when its something like this and imagining whats at the end there was nothing going to stop me. Im glad the hard bit is over and that it works perfectly!

Needs to lose the bonnet catches, coilovers but not too low mabye steel 15" wheels. Make some sleeper then

Hoping to order a front set of bc adjustable dampers this week coming. Bonnet catches is less weight ;) And there wont be hiding the intercooler i dont think.....

Took my mate for a drive along the farm road last weekend and didnt make it back, i could have sworn it was a fuelling issue (thought id run out of petrol) so i made it back up tonight with fuel and it wasnt. Done all the usual checks but still knew it was fuelling. Turns out i hadnt pushed on the clip to the fuel feed pipe inside the tank :p

So back on and a small video for you guys, please excuse the wonky dials as ive not finished the dash yet!

Also found out my fan isnt doing enough to cool the system, the fan kicks on when it should and controls the temp ok on idle (even in this heat) but doesnt turn off until cars been driven. Not a real issue as its all temporary

So with this guy not getting back to me about suspension ive decided to forget about crail this year and push on with getting it turbo'd. So with my working out the engine could be built by mid september (depending on costs)

Engine will have sr20det pistons and conrods fitted and arp rod bolts, cosworth gasket and headbolts. Piston rings, stem seals, and bearings will all be replaced.

Can anyone recommend anything else that i should upgrade to run up to 350bhp safely

Thanks

Keep the compression the same as DE. Custom forged JE pistons with the correct compression ratio are available on eBay fairly cheap. The stock rods are forged anyway so DET wouldn't be much of an upgrade.

What and keep it to 10:1? Why? And i was only swapping rods because they have pistons on them already with the CR ive been recommended

A stock DE when boosted is a lot more responsive and easier to drive with the higher compression.

If you've already got the bits then it's probably not worth it though.

We had this conversation a few pages back. If you have arp rod and head bolts with rings and stem seals chuck it all in with the DE bits and cossie gasket and you'd be laughing. All the weak parts replaced.

And yeah scooby 440's will easily do 350hp.

I wouldn't even open it up GTiR manifold T28 throw in some 555's a walbro and get it tuned will make more than enough power in a micra.. especially if your running at crail..

Its burning some oil so would rather have that fixed and its not just for crail, i fancy round knockhill, will be road legal and hope to make it it better drag strips too

Are the pistons and rods from a 200sx?

Yeah they are

I knew someone would say this, so i gathered the numbers lol

Block
32122
11132
Crank

So i need 2x4 1x3 1x2 and 1x5 grades. And for the big ends 2x0 1x1 and 1x2

Has anyone ever had problems with nissan getting them?

stock head bolts and mains studs all day long, the higher torque values of the ARP's distort the aluminium block.

Back from holiday, head has been skimmed, and also 2 exhaust studs have been helicoiled. Ive fitted new studs, valves cleaned up and ground in. Need to extend my valve spring compressor to fit around the head before i can re-assemble.

Block is also handed in for hone and skim so will pick that up next week which will give me plenty to so once ordered the last parts from nissan :)
