well my new GTI arrived on tuesday while i was with the wife, with having to go back to work in a day or so i came home to get myself sorted and rdy and do some work on the car here is how she started off today and i will post how she finished when the daylight returns

Custom craft 2.5" catback system with 4" slash cut backbox
Z32 4pot calipers with 310mm discs fitted with ebc red stuff pads
Pirahna d drilled and groved rear disks standard calipers fitted with ebc red stuff pads
XTD 11lb lightened flywheel
full energy suspension kit (front wishbones, rear trailing arm, ARB, pwr steering rack)

oooh nice, excited about this - the old one looked awesome so i presume you swapped all the bits over

whatsthe mileage n condition like...
 
body is clean except a few little bits so gonna get it resprayed, going to swap engines overs when i get the time got the dastek unit form ross going to be on its way once i pay him for it. new exhaust system going to be made for it.

tho after a hard days graft and with the help of alan we managed to get the coilovers swapped around wheels and we got rid of a rusty door and put one of my good ones on it, oil change and some new sparkplugs got my open grill onto it my deglobed indicators replaced the missing foglight clip and evicted the small china man that had taken up residence in the wheel arch
 
now comes the show of yesterdays hard work once again thanks alan and your parts are jsut waiting to be taken off the old one :)

hmmmm new Exhaust system being planed atm so do i go 4-1 or 4-2-1 ideas guys, the person im getting to make it for me is going to make my manifold a pre turbo manifold so i can bolt the turbo and such to it at a later date one i get all the bits
 
Personally I'd go for a 4-2-1 system as they're supposed to be better for power/torque spread, but I'm sure the Gti guys who've actually charged theirs will tell you better. :)
 
You will be hard pressed to find a 4-1 off the shelf without spending a fair wack, ebay jobby or toyosports £150 is probably your best bet. Unless you have other plans in the pipeline?
 
willie if you are planning on going turbo in future just buy a 100 quid toyosports header off ebay and a CAST IRON pulsar turbo mani later down the line.

i stress cast iron turbo mani...
 
i dont see how he can make it so a turbo can be bolted on, just get a normal catback then when you go turbo all you need is the downpipe meeting up to it.
 
fair enough ebay job and cat back system then thanks guys

and i know the new one jsut look's like the old but i loved the old one so much i dont see any reason not to try and rebuild it with a different shell :).

will look loads better once i get it down to quickdraw for a spray job in a couple of months

eddie : i was going to have someone make the 4 - 1 manifold for me man but it aint happening now so no need to think aobut it

New car looks great. Can I have the seat brackets out of the old one if I pay you the postage, pretty please?

i got a decat waiting for it already.

whats wrong with the olf full system all be it maybe not big enough for turbo? dont forgrt to change the shorter short shifter over.
