Been doing some work on the my little project so thought id post some pics

Firsty though found this from when i had my almera..... :( i miss that car LOL. its in Kilmarnock if anyone has seen it?.....

Heres a before and after with the seats. coloured them with leather colourant then conditioned.

Before

After

Waiting for new kick plates to arrive for the passenger side footwell where you can see they are scuffed. And I have a new dashboard to be fitted. Its cracked.. :(

After a machine polish with Farecela G3, then by hand with Supercut, 3M handglaze, then Neilsen Manual Polish, then Neilsen Liquid Gold Plus. Crap light, but hey the weather sux! Notice the snow!!!

And this is very much a work in Progress, in fact the engine and box are in the process of comming out so I can really get at it to make it as good as possible. I dont have a before picture unfortunately. Wish I did :( LOL.

I have new struts to fit, brakes, and Im going to re-con the gearbox when its out too as it has never been done. Keep watching. Pics will follow in the next few weeks :)
Hope you like them.

Cant wait to get some better weather for some pictures in good locations!

OMG, pass the tissues, used to have an old Manta Berlinetta, these are the cars dreams are made of. Superb choice fella.

Mechanically speaking, to work on these cars is an absolute dream. Can get your whole head in most spots!

Lovely example, my friends got a 2.0 laser thats no where near good nick as this but is still going strong.

Love old fords... always wanted a capri... but now i gor a mk3 escort, mk4 escort cabriolet and a mk1 fiesta... check my members ride post for details...

The capri looks mint.. do you go to many ford shows with it?

Cheers for he great comments guys. yeah its a joy to work on. Everything is easy to get to, :) Did both the head gaskets when I first got it, and it was so straight forward. Not having cams to take out helped of course. Push rods all the way!!!!!

Oooh mk 1 fiesta. nice :) what are your escorts, as in model wise? Its not been to many shows yet, only two local shows so far. But its not ready yet. Once the engine bay is how i want it, Ive had the wheels refurbed, The new dash installed, and the bonnet painted, (it has a scratch in it and a few small chips) then it will be heading to as many shows as I can get it to. :)

Mk3 escort ... home made race car.. mine and my cousins project for the last 4 years... bear metal rebuild.. lots and lots of engine mods... producing somewhere in the region of 230BHP

Ecort Mk4 Cab .. just a daily runner kept in good condition... tying to get to concourse but its never gonna happen now.. other cars taking too much money...

Mk1 fiesta... latest project.. lots of body repairs and parts to bolt on... ongoing project... may need new shell...

going to have a look at a mk3 van 33k miles this weekend and its in almost mint condition... if its as good as expected it might be comming home with me :)

lovvvve your Capri. The engine note of these engines is unmistakeable and gorgeous! best sound is at low to mid range id say :):):)

Mate of mine has a low mileage 2 litre one, paint a sort of yellow champagne colour and red cloth and red vinyl interior, bloody gorgeous.

Also got an ex cop car Granada, now a 3.1, drove it myself and its the only car thats given me a a huge grin without using my heavy right foot. engine note!!!

id love a capri or granada one day :)

Got a soft spot for old Fords, especially the MK1 Fiesta, :D we had an ex demo Y reg from `83-97, & put almost 300k miles on the original 1.1 engine! :D

Still got the scars on my hand from changing the gearbox (with a pickaxe handle, some rope & a trolley jack), after it blew the side out of itself when I was about 14! :D

Happy days! :D

That's a fantastic example of a great collectors car  Keeping it standard gets my respect. Blue or green always look good on a Brooklyns :)

Cheers mate. :) The brooklands model was only ever produced in green, as a final edition before they stopped making them. some of the 2.8 injection specials were blue though :)

Absolutely stunning mate. Gorgeous car!

Mate of mine has a very clean black 2.8i special. It's gorgeous, but this is something else!

Best of luck with it man!

You on CCS?
