Model: N16 Sport
Engine: QG18DE

Enjoy the forums.

Welcome to AOC.

Just in case you didn't know 'N16' is the chassis type and 'phase 1' refers to the models before the 2003 'facelift'.

Thanks very much that helps alot....Is the QG18DE a good engine and can much be done to it to improve performace? I am new to the nissan seen and i really like the almera and its the only car i wanted to make better out of alot of cars i have owned.

Here is my new N16 Then as well

Hi mate the QG18DE aint the best engine but aint bad id start with air filter exhaust stainless header and maybe cams and you will have a good motor

Cheers garnz

Sounds good to me....Can you tell me where i could get the like of all that stuff as i have looked and cant find anything like that but i know im looking in the wrong places....

Help to find tuning parts would be awsome if possible..

Thanks again

OK the info in these links is based on the QG18DE in the US variant of the Almera, the Sentra, so there will be some differences but good food for thought..

Ignore the N15 lot. You'll get used to their anti-n16 banter in time

lol fair enough...I kinda went for a N16 because i do have 2 kids as well and although i want to do alot to it i also want to keep it tidy and fairly standard from outside apart from suspension and wheels. I want all the work to be done on the engine.

An N16 isnt a reason for that though as you could have got a 1.4 or 1.6 N15 too. Don't make the N16 out to be souly a family car :p

Used to hate the N16, but it's really grew on me. I can imagine it looking the bomb with alloys, tints and a little lower.

Welcome Keith - there are plenty of cars to look at on here for inspiration. If you join up you'll have access to a mine of info for all Almeras. :)

The N15 was one of the best if not the best nissan ever built, nissan after 00 went down hill in build quality and reliability :D

Oh is this another N16 hater :p I would of mebe went for a N15 but they are very dated looking and in my eyes buying a nissan is far from a bad thing no matter what model it is. I am very very pleased with my car and the performace it puts out as standard and now i have a straight through exhaust i am just trying to find a manifold now to unleash a little more power. I think will a little time and tracking parts the N16 could be a quick little car.

I've had both cars N15 and N16. The N16 was more reliable and comfy and felt more quality but the N15 is quicker, and better handling although not as well built and less resistant to tin worm. (All IMHO of course).
