So...I got myself an Almera...

After years of being a Vee Dub driver...with Golf, (Seat ) Ibiza, and even an old scirocco for a few months, I have stumbled across this Almera. It's in amazing condition...The inside is absolutley prisitine and you can see from the pics below, the bodywork is brilliant nick and as far as i am aware it is completely standard. The model is a 1.4 'equation'.

However, my past cars have been modified, and I don't know what to do with this one...I haven't seen many 'done up' Almeras but I suppose I haven't been looking.

I was thinking...of basically Dropping it on it's arse- Say about 40mm.

I'd like blacked out rear lights, and if I could' I'd like to de-badge and take of the bumper strips, and maybe even paint the bumpers, and some black alloys....I just don't know.

I'm not fussed about perfomance, I know it's a 1.4, I know it's not fast, and I've got this Almera after i bumped the Ibiza and my insurance went back through the roof.

So any ideas? Where I could get started?

Yeah, there's alot I don't know about cars though to be honest. Like how to go about getting the smoke effect lights? Things like that...the finer details.

welcome to the almera world dude.

it depends what you want to do to it, there are lots of things, GTi bodykit etc.

my 1st recommendation would be to pay the full membership as there is so much info :D

I think it will be best....I'm useless with cars too. SO I could use the help...for a start I don't even know how get them hideous door bumpers off. ':/ lol

Where can you get these GTI bumpers from? Fleabay?

I wouldn't bodykit it, get an SRi front bumper and a colour coded rear bumper, roof spoiler and some GTi alloys, lower it and then you've got a nice base :)

Welcome.

Imo you should purchase some coilies get it polybushed and band the steelies its wearing.

Leave the look of it as Nissan intended bar maybe a splitter.

however if it's only a 1.4 and your not going to be going 60 round roundabouts then get springs :)

fraction of the price, and the same look.

GTi alloys make them look so much better I think. And an SRi/GTi front with the foggies would be awesome too. Colour coded 3 door white SRi/GTi look alike would be nice.

will have a set of gti alloys up for sale very soon if your intrested

where abouts in north wales you from?

I've got some alloys on it at the moment to make it look a tad better then it did on the bin lids. I'm not going for the sleeper look as it's pointless...it's a 1.4 haha

Out of interest though I'm in North Wales to England boarder. 10 minutes away from Chester city.

I'm lowering it and getting a decent exhaust come payday.

Tommo's is an awesome example of how the mera can go from dull to devestatingly handsome :D

Dale turbo'd his 1.4 and now it's a beast, so you could always do that :thumb:

hiya matey,

heres a few pics of mine
i got this about 1 month ago, and only put gti spoiler on and white gti alloys,

id say keep the black bumpers, remove the 'equation' side badges, give it a nice compounding/polish/wax/clean, and just get some lowering springs, gti antiroll bar, and drop a sr20de lump in it, thats what im doing any way,
these are wicked little drift machines....

Not far from me then, I'll have my backbox for sale next week...you'll just need to get a GTi mid section to fit it.
