Suspension Help!

does anyone know the internal diameter of a 1.8 Almera Sport?

i am in the middle of buying new lowering springs while at work, and the kit that i have found determines on the size of the springs.

any help?

cheers

There are two. Best to messaure them yourself. That's what I did :).

careful what make of springs you buy. Steer clear of Spax and PI, there n16 fitments are problematic - the front spring top coils coil-bind and knock. I learned the hard way! LOL.

They can only be 69mm or 79mm & the best way to make sure is to measure your current springs. :) I don't recommend Gmax either - they're crap for ride comfort !

I'll take a guess that your's are 79mm inner diameter. Pretty sure i have the only Almera ever built that has 69mm. :D

I's recomment Apex springs. No problems when i had them

yeah i will measure them when i get home, just thought id check the fountain of knowledge first

its apex ones that im after, they are 79mm inner diameter, so i pray that mine are that, cos there cheap!

there on ebay, i was just searching for "almera lowering springs" and found them.

its the cheapest ive ever seen them like, thats why ive gone for it

Awsome price on the apex's like.

Mine were £120 delivered two years ago and a set went on here second hand for £100 about 6 month ago.

DO IT Paul.

Right - that's the boost gauge & wheel spacers ordered :) Only hesitation now is with these bloody springs  Do I get the Apex at a 35mm drop all round or the Spax SSX at 35mm front/20mm rear ? Although the rear Excel Gshocks have just arrived & should be a nice improvement, I think the Spax 20mm rear drop might just be a better idea then the Apex items. It definitely shouldn't bottom out then, but still a healthy drop with decent ride comfort.

I know the Apex units are recommended on here by quite a few, but can anyone recommend the Spax SSX springs ? Any experience-related opinions would be gratefully received !
