HID Xenon problem

Does anyone know much about them?

Recently baught a set of hi/low beam hid's of a mate fitted fine and worked fine with no problems. until my passenger light fucked up... so baught new bulbs and it still dont work   , does this mean its the ballast pack?

If so does anyone know if all ballasts will support hi and low beam bulbs?

have you tried plugging the bulb into both ballast packs

yes i have, i've tried three different bulbs aswel!

the ballast packs should hummm when they turn on but only one does if this is any help?

to me it seems as if all signs are pointiong to the ballast. grrrrrrrr

How long ago did you buy them?

12 month warrenty usually...

Also check the original wires are they are prone to fuck up

given wires a check over and a fiddle and all seems fine! the reason why i have them in the first place is cos the drivers origanal one fucked up!

the 12 month warrenty is void as my mate sold them to me and i cba to wait around for them to be sent off fixed and recieved , aparently my mate emailed the seller and never got a reply, i've had a look on ebay to try and find the seller but he's gone!

honestly mate just give up, i bought hi/low ones about a month ago. after one week 1 bulb blew so i bought another 2 then after 2 weeks another 2 popped. i fitted them correctly they just didnt last long

lol surely if there is no power going to the ballast its not going to turn on its the first thing I would check. also I brought my HID kit for £80 but that was back in the day 1 ballast blown on me (2 years down the line) and I replaced it with a cheap set and they work fine. only thing I can say is get a relay kit fitted as one of my head lights were strobing due to the fact there was not enough power there so I spent another £10 to get a relay kit and you know one no problems now :)

most hid kits out these days have a permenant feed going into them anyway, but i can imagine the older onea didnt.

it was a option some cars can get away with it some car's can't

basically what sportyblueone said

turn head lights on and it flicks the relay and the relay takes power from the battery to the head light directly. its crazy as my head lamps are fused at 15amps each and that is 30 amp max but it flickers without the relay kit but when I installed the relay kit I only used a 20amp or 25amp fuse and they don't flicker at all.

gotta remember the wires in the loom are tiny, small wires and bright headlights will pull more current that a slightly larger size cable

I know it will loose power due to thinner wires but why fuse it at 15 when it does not give 15amp. or even 10 amp as my HIDs are fused at 20 I think. I am not near the car at the moment otherwise I would of check it might even be 15 amp. my friend said put a 20 amp in replacing the standard I said forget that just in case the wire sets on fire
