Rear seatbelt wont uncoil???

Removed the rear seatbelts from the n15 so i could do some work in the back of the car, made the mistake of letting them coil back into themselves such that when i went to bolt them back in there was Just enough slack in them to get them bolted back in.

Opened up the o/s belt and somehow i got this to uncoil but cant manage it with the n/s belt, does anyone know how to free them? I assume there much be some kind of latch you hit to free up the mechanism. Small problem but its extremely annoying and needs fixing. Oh and i obviously tried to let the belt back in a bit and pull it back.... hence why it is so tight now and this for some reason didnt work. Am i missing something really obvious here? Any ideas

Thanks

if the mechanism gets flipped upside down it locks solid... nobody has figured out how to undo it as far as i am aware

Thanks for the replies lads. RAJackson do you mean if it gets a knock or something or quite literally if it is turned upside down in any way? Right well that doesnt sound good. So if i got a belt from a different almera would I have to make sure it was removed in a certain way or something? Guess I will be looking for a new one then but dont want to buy one and have same problem.

if you take the cover off there is a little metal ball and plastic clip take that off thats what i did to mine when i got some belts off ross, they had locked up. they still work ok and passed a mot.
