Ricks BP0 GTI

stone chips break through the underseal on the inner arch... salted roads and the usual english weather start the rust formation...

rust takes over and spreads like a plague... causing a weakness in the metal ... then use a screwdriver is used to finish off the hole making :)

wrong.... have you ever looked up in an n15 rear arch?

there is a big recess that gets filled with mud/salt/shit permanently stays wet so it rots out the panels it touches.... just happens to be up in the inner arch. it doesnt help that its where two panels meet so moisture creeps up between

a huge design flaw but 10 years ago it wasnt a consideration

NICE! Already been said many times, but BP0 is a gorgeous colour!

Was this on ebay? With colour coded rocker cover and strut brace?

Wasn't on ebay as far as i know, engine bay has been touched since it left the factory judging by the state of it.

Awesome! I didn't think after you saying at Shakeys that my car made me miss yours enough to actually buy another lol.

Good work buddy, can't wait to see what you have planned for it.

Wasn't planning on one this soon, but it came up at a decent price.

Think we share the same love for an unkitted BP0, which is how this will be staying forever.

Few little updates on this.

Sorted the non-working rev counter by replacing it with a new unit and fitted a new heater card so my heaters work on all settings now. Also managed to re-code the nats alarm system after taking 3 remotes apart to create 1 good one.

She's now sporting some Ph2 non-gti headlights and indicators along with a set of wind deflectors.

Also got some this lot still to go on her this week some time.

Just ordered some HEL brake lines which i'll get round to fitting at some point too.

Most important thing still to be done is a major service, oh and tax her so i can actually drive her.

Good progress Rick :thumb:

Looks good Rick, always see that Ned driving about in your old one!! Will be good to see you in your own GTi now! That inner arch is bad, just sorted mine last week, was getting pretty messy but think I've caught it in time!

Def Scottish meet guys!!

Few things done to it recently.

White wheels, fog blanks and 2 slat grill. Sorry for the dirtyness of the car.

other things done include JDM stereo consile with new headunit and airbag seats from a ph3 gti.

Nice on Rick. Looks good with the wheels.

Estimated time of arrival on road?

I could say mid-January, even February but whether that happens or not is a different story. I've been trying since December to get her on the road but have never found spare money to tax and insure her yet.
