Craig's v6 n1 replacement

Well as many of you may know Wezzly now has my old n1. Was all a bit random, he was looking for a nice n15 and missed out on a lovely lucino, i flippantly said 'buy mine' - and the rest is history. I was kind of getting annoyed with the prospect of using it as a daily for another winter, and couldn't be bothered with giving it the care and attention it deserved. So on to wezz for him to fondle it nightly.

What to replace it with? Having had basically in my opinion the holy grail of n15s, and not fancying anything old i'd need to keep worrying about too much i started thinking a little newer. S2000, DC2, DC5, etc etc. But nothing jap was appealing to me. Only one thing that i'd always wanted since they first came out was on my mind, and despite all the harsh reputation they sometimes get i thought fuck it, and bought an Alfa :p - cos obviusly i won't have to worry about repairing it much o_O

Its a 147 GTA, 3.2l v6. Only 300 came into the UK, and a lot less than that in this colour. Absolutely love it, its just a complete car - everything is already done from the factory so no modding needed in my opinion. Its a 2004 with 70k miles on, bit of a bargain as the lad wanted rid quickly before the birth of his first sprog. Had thousands spent on it over the last 2 years by alfa geeks.

Spec:
Infamous Busso 3.2 v6 alfa engine
-247bhp
-221torques
sounds epic.
330mm 2 piece discs, and 4pot Brembo calipers from a Ferrari f360 (rear lol) as standard.
q2 limited slip diff (similar torsen diff to the quaifes on here)
2.5" stainless catback
traction control
vdc stability control
Bose factory fitted stereo and sub
Heated leather seats

Its heavy with all the big leather interior, stereo and bullshit. But it has the torques too, so even in standard form people on the forums have run 14s dead 1/4 mile. Probably high 13s with the lsd fitted and a joe driving it. But its above 60 when all the power comes into play, accelerates up and past 100 without thinkin about it. Big wide flat power delivery, a tad different to the screaming n1! Handles great too, the diff apparently transforms them, as standard they torque steer and squirm about something rotten.

Only plans are maybe polybush the whole thing as alfa bushes are made of chocolate, other than that keep it clean. And working properly. :/

Probably get a mixed reception on here but thought i'd put it up and see....

Didn't realise you could get a power like that in these. V6 too, nice.

Actually that looks a lot better than the pic you sent me, colour looks more vibrant, can see why you said I would like cleaning it! Spotted the cheeky wee ribina on the driver seat lol! I will never ever like those wheels though, they look like the things you got at primary school when you were baking to cut out shapes.

Starting to think when people sell up then buy something else, their new members threads sound more like justifying the purchase so they don't flamed rather than showing it off haha

Always loved these and that looks awesome.

Be prepared to take out a mortgage to repair it though.

always loved these, was seriously thinking about getting one of these or a 156 a couple of years ago.

I like it, always liked the 4 door 156's and 155's a lot myself, but Alfa interiors usually really appeal to me, it looks great inside this. Must be massive fun with the LSD in!

Very nice. Does look stunning and them alloys.… awesome. Would only suits the Alfa though.

0-100 vids next!

well you've got to expect flaming when posting an alfa up on a devout jap forum lol

lol nah thats all a myth! the busso engine is really solid when looked after. All the bad reputation seems to come from sales reps buying them and expecting to run them day in day out like an audi and never touching them. Then whinging when a droplink needs replacing or something!

Like it. Deffo qualifies you for cock status.

oh defo, like a bimmer almost

Oh fucking hell.

?

Lambo wheels please.

Looks great, love the seats.

Buttertubs?

if its still working potentially :D

very mean ell, but i think the standard styling is pretty cock on too. Like you said, i love the interior and seats. I hate to go all clarkson but it is such a nice place to be. Been totally drawn in by all the cliched 'soul, passion, hyperbole, hyperbole' bollox of alfas. It doesn't feel like a normal car. *cringe*
