Rear antiroll bar on N15 is it worth the hassle?

Hello guys, I know few of you are using rear antiroll bars on your n15's, so a simple question: are they worth installing? what is the difference before/after? Thank you in advance.

I noticed with mine that it made a difference to the rear end not swaying around as much when cornering hard but that with trailing arm bushes is a much better upgrade

Yeah I got polybushe whole suspention when I get time, kit is waiting in the garage, so just gathering information about rear antiroll. Anyway thank for the reply Chunky.

One of my friends here in Greece, who has a PH1 sallon converted to VZ-R has quoted: "It was the best buy I 've made so far when it comes to suspension".

Not needed if you poly bush the trailing arms. That is a fact.
Mine felt much much better without the bar and polys.

The rear bushes are the most immediate tight bum feeling you will get, the rear arb mainly just stops the rear beam violently snapping back. One of the most disconcerting feelings a stock almera gives handling wise... only fast sharp transcending bends this is felt though!

In short yes its a useful addition to making an almera not handle like poop

cheers for the advice Eddie

I don't really know how the rear beam 'snaps back'. I've never experienced that, even in stock form. A stock GTi with good functioning suspension handles pretty good.
From someone who actually tracks their car imo it is not needed with poly beam bushes.

Hmm don't know if explained it well, assumed you would have felt this or understood.

Say going through a corner, then coming back onto a straight pulling hard. The rear axle feels like its at full extent one way, then when you pull through hard on the straight on corner exit the beam feels like it rips hard the other way quite violently. Feels disconected like riding on a trolly dolly. Rear arb + rear bush's I don't get this anymore. Rear bush's make it feel tight at low speeds, but rear arb stops fidgety rear end feeling whilst tyres still in contact with tarmac mind!

My opinion.. Bushes good low speed daily differences felt, rear arb felt more at speed & pushing even further. Both are good mods, doubt will be disappointed if did both mind

Well I'll install the poly bushes first and try them, but because I relocated my battery to the boot overall balance gone from the front towards the centre a bit more, that putted additional stress on the rear beam and I can feel it, obviously bushings are stock and old now. My goal is to achieve maximum possible stability Almera could deliver.

I never used rear trailing arm bushes, but the rear ARB really made a good difference, felt more predictable and a tendancy for lift-off oversteer

You need to learn how to corner smoothly ig the back is 'snapping back' on exit.

My stock dci can corner smoothly at the limit, your beam wont get anywhere near 'full extension' with your because racecar coilovers.

This. The B15 guys know this and learnt how to actually drive the cars on track to get the most of them.
