N16 DCi-R

Looks good. How much have you actually driven the car this year lol, every time I check here it's off the road, so you actually getting the enjoyment of driving it after all the hard earned pennies and time your putting into the car mate?

It's been off the road since mid June. I wanted t back for shakeys but had those clutch fitment issues so trying now for the end of the month. But there could be a delay in getting my new clutch from the US so might be mid Nov. Not ideal because of the weather turning :/

Heh I know it doesnt seem like logical timing. The thought of driving round in the starlet in icy/snowy/wety weather all over the country is not pleasant, let alone for another few months. I will feel more comfortable in the Almera and safer too as it's not a crisp packet and I've got very decent winter tyres for it.

I've done all this de-rusting and protection so that I can drive it in the winter and not worry too much.

Finally, I'm not the only one ha.

Brake cooling ducts. One of the problems with the ph2 especially is lack of these. A bit of spirited driving with the 4 pots and i got warped discs. GTi has ducts and intake on the bumpers but obviously the old N16 family hatchback didn't need it.

So Im ditching fogs and putting these in. Added bonus of weight loss.

Starting to make sense of this now. A lot is the same and some wires just go to different components so its just a case of swapping plugs and some splicing.

I already have some Nightbreaker bulbs from before. Not sure if they are + or not. I will try them first. I would rather not use HIDs if I can. I fitted my HIDs out of safety concerns (couldn't fucking see) but I did test for any glare by asking someone to drive in front for a few miles.
