almera 1.8 no power.

Hi I have a nissan almera 1.8. When I drive off from stationery its feels like something holding the car back. also if i rev the engine in neutral it feels like it is going to stall until i take my foot off the accelerator idle is fine and if i slowly apply the accelerator it revs fine. anyone know what it could be. Thanks
 
Had a mechanic suggest fuel pump/filter so playing with pump tomorrow(No filter on this model). will let you all know if that solves problem. Maf is good but thanks for suggestion. If i have no joy with pump will look at injectors.
