My new vzr n1 version 2

Just thought I'd check back in after a few years and see how things are going..

..looking good mate!

Now just to see if your memory serves as to who I am.. Haha.

It's good to see someone else's projects are never finished :)

I have to keep plugging away it's a never ending addiction. It goes from one thing to another, modding or changing something and then realising it was better the way it was before I ever went at it.

Next on the list are the open mouth grill, centre garnish for the rear number plate and a full nismo exhaust if one exists around anymore in clean original condition.

Hurry up and update your thread too really want to see the outcome oh and welcome back!

Can't believe it's more than a year since the last update anyway, I drove it all summer this year and as per usual for a car left sitting so long a few issues cropped up so took into it today to try to get them sorted.

Pulled off the front for access.

Stripped out the gearbox

To get at this

I managed to source a replacement discontinued Nismo clutch from Gspec for it which ill be fitting tomorrow.

Anyway I was having grief at high revs going into 4th so I said I'd have a go at sorting that at the synchro. Just need to find access to a press tomorrow to get it all sorted and back together.

Then as If that wasn't enough since I brought it out there was a little weep of coolant out the back of the block... My most hated task on a pulsar... inlet manifold off

Combination of nissan's crap wire clips and the nismo rad cap i'd suspect.

I'd agree the higher pressure is causing me issues nearly every hose has started weeping at one stage or another. Very annoying especially when it down the back of the damn manifold.

I'd blame the car sitting about too tho. It sits about for a year or two at a time causes havoc with them.

these SR's do like to be used and ................

"]these SR's do like to be used and .....used hard,
"]these SR's do like to be used and .....thrashed,
"]these SR's do like to be used and .....abused,
"]these SR's do like to be used and .....pampered,
???

End your darned sentence will ya?

:)

Mine likes to be thrashed anyway ha ha. Well I don't think it likes it as it's putting up a pretty good fight but that's all its getting!

Thats the hose that split on mine, was able to do it from under the car though. Having removed that big metal plate.

Yea I probably should have removed it when I did mine. Its harder to do it now as the loom runs through it! Hopefully to feck that's the last time I have to remove the inlet.... Thinking about it after with doing the clutch aswell I should have just dropped the lot.

It didn't split either just weeping from that wire clip and the thing was as tight as it was ever going to be.

Yeah problem with the wire clips is where they cut into the hose, if you move them so they aren't cutting into the same bits then its usually OK.

Right lads decided today to call it a day on this whole project/car... Put up last week that I was interested in a sale and straight away got the full asking.

It's been a long road of ups and downs for sure, I appreciate the advice and encouragement of everyone on the forum.

Genuinely gutted about it but my situation dictated that I wouldn't have any time with it and it was better going to someone that would cherish it hopefully as much as I did.

Such a shame so who's bought it then, and what was the asking price :( did it stay in Ireland or coming to uk. Such a lovely car and plenty of work put into it.
