receiver/antenna Almeria GTI

Hey guys,

Can't seem to find any topics about this on the forum.....

Getting really poor range in remote central locking keyfob. Tried changing batteries, keyfobs, the lot.

It's so bad that sometimes I have to physically walk round the car with the keyfob pressed to different parts to try and get it to unlock.

First port of call is to check the receiver/antenna. Anybody know where this could be found on an Almeria GTI (1999)??

Thanks.

Okay, thanks.

Is the module for the alarm also the central locking receiver? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to make sure before I replace the wrong thing. My central locking keyfob won't unlock unless I'm close to the door which is a pain...me thinks the receiver might be faulty as replacing the battery on the fob didn't help.

The siren/sounder is under the bonnet. The module for the alarm is below the ashtray part of the centre console.

Module for the alarm does control the central locking.
It's most likely a break in the antenna leading out of the unit, try this before replacing the unit as they aren't easy to come by.

hi Sunny....it seems you're only one replying on this forum. any ideas the wire colours for the lock/unlock central locking? cheers

Inside the doors or rest of the car?

If, in the doors. There are no 'wires' but a ribbon track and is not coloured.

I don't know what colours lead from the door to the loom but search for the FSM thread on here and it will help you out.

I have to walk round the car to get it to lock with the fob, its only since i changed the box behind the centre console. I did notice the was a wire connected and blanked/looped on the one i took out and the other was connected to the car (hardwired) might try it the other way round,

Yes, I mean the wires at the central locking control unit of the car...I'm buying an aftermarket remote central locking kit and I'm trying to figure the color wires for the lock and unlock at the control unit.

do you guys know the wire colors for lock/unlock at the control unit? by the way, I can't locate the FSM thread on the forum..if you could post the link to it would appreciate it.

Cheers All

I'm also looking at installing an aftermarket RCL. The FSM thread on this forum points to this site: genis-x(dot)net/listing.php?id=1b15da&k=NissanFSM but there is nothing there

Thanks but the link doesn't work. how'd you find this link anyways? genis-x.net/listing.php?id=1b15da&k=NissanFSM...I can't find anything related to FSM or full service manuals on this forum...

you have to do an external google search to find anything here. I'm finding out real quick this forum is pretty much dead for non-paying members....
