iPod Audio - Clarion CY460 - SXE with SatNav

Hi people, would appreciate any help. I've got a 2003 SXE, with the integrated satnav etc, and a Clarion CY460 cd player. Was going to buy an XCarLink, thinking I'd be able to use that to plug in an iPod, but have now seen that it's not compatible with the CY460 (even though, having pulled it out, it does have the cd multichanger port on the back)

Any thoughts on options for getting iPod to play through this audio set up? Is there an alternative to XCarLink that is compatible, or is it possible to change the unit from CY460 to something that is? Or am I just stuck with an FM transmitter dongle?!

Any advice much appreciated :)

I thought that XCarLink was one of the compatible units? Personally I have the Yatour for AUX and USB and married it with the bluetooth module. Pretty sure that they have a dedicated iPod/iPhone version too although I have Android. There wasn't any particular reason why I bought Yatour rather than XCarLink (or the other one which name escapes me at the moment), other than that I could find a supplier on Fleabay for both parts that were here in UK.

Plenty of other threads on here asking pretty much the same thing though - how to play USB/AUX etc so you're definitely in the right place.

Thanks - much appreciated! Have ordered a Yatour, though could only find one via China :/ Yeah, the XCarlink *doesn't* work with the CY460 cd head unit, which is annoying - and a little surprising too. Anyway, hopefully be sorted in a week or two.

Pretty sure you're wrong there dude. A lot of the threads here mention the xcarlink.

A quick googling shows this for the XCarLink SKU208

8+2+2 Connector
CK106, CNA48, CT008, CT020, CT098, CT138, CY13C, HY00E,CY100, CY460, P11, P12, PN2646, CQ-EN7466X, PN2530H, RM-VS3GAEA

Still, I'm really happy with my Yatour and it was really easy to install. Only took about 30 minutes and that included routing the cable for the microphone up to the sunglasses holder.

Yeah, I think you're probably right - so many slightly different models, I probably got the wrong one! Looks like the SKU208 would work. Ah well - the Yatour is about £30 cheaper, so there we go.

Indeed, I seem to remember that I paid about the same for my combo, as the xcarlink cost without BT module.

If you go for a BT unit at a later date, I definitely recommend getting the remote control, button thing. would have been prettier and easier to mount

So - I got my Yatour... and now I'm wondering how to get the 12v power to make it work! Any advice / links to go through that part of the wiring? Did you install it yourself? Getting to the back of the unit is fine, as is plugging it into the CD player but I've tried a number of power feeds into the stereo, but they measure at around 6v output, whereas the unit needs 12. I'm pretty handy with electrics, but having a job knowing where to get the easiest power feed from. Any help very much appreciated!

From memory, it's the yellow and the pink. yellow went to yellow and red to pink.
Grab a multimeter and use any part of the chassis as 0v (ground) and then test using the other probe. I seem to remember that the stereo isn;t grounded other than though the case/chassis (although I am prepared to be prove wrong)

The yellow&pink pair were next to eachother, in the corner of the connector block (againm this is all from memory)

I cannot remember which of the two are 12v+ and ACC/IGN but that's easy to test once you have multimeter imn hand, plus the keys in the ignition.

{disclaimer - triple check everything I have said as I am colourblind}

You're a star! Colour-blind or not, you got it spot on! Many thanks :)
