Just a quick note (!) - last year paid £155.00 for 14 year old Almera 1.5 S 5 door via a well known broker - it was the best quote available at the time - this years quote is (as the car is now 15) ------ £532.00!!! which is a 160% increase - no explanation as to why its gone up so much other than quote "a lot of older people are having minor accidents in Almeras which pushes up premiums"- by the way - if I insure directly through the quoted insurance company its only £189 - someone is making a killing somewhere... Owned a Focus 1600 Zetec a while a go which was £55.00 cheaper to insure than my previous Almera which was also a 1.5. Bonkers
