Airbag light won't go off-Almera SE auto 1.8 (55)

Dear all,
Airbag light suddenly came on.
I took it down to my local Nissan dealer-( I had to get a recall job done anyway), and was told the connections were loose.
A few months later, the light comes back on....and Nissan want to do an auto check (£110) before they do anything!!! WTF!!
Anyone- any ideas
Thanks

seeing same issue, airbag light is continuously on and not blinking, checked connection below passenger seat, looks ok

Hi,

I have 2004 (54) 1.8 SE auto, and had the exact same issue occur 6-7 years ago immediately after an MOT - I believe the MOT tester moving the passenger seat for whatever reason caused it.

From distant memory, the 'quick fix' (which worked for me as the light has not been back on since) was as follows:

; turn ignition on and wait for air bag light to illuminate
; as soon as air bag light illuminates turn key right back to 'off' but do not pull it out of ignition
; wait until you hear the 'click' a few seconds after you have turned the key to 'off', then immediately turn ignition back on
; carry out the above steps a total of 3 times, and after the 3rd time of turning the ignition on the light will stop flashing

As stated, the above is purely from memory so apologies in advance if it doesn't work. I was also happy to 'take the risk' of not having it checked by diagnostics given the limited use that the car got and still gets.

Best of luck.

Cheers.
