Idling and headlights

Hi,

I bought a Nissan Almera 1.5 SX 2006 about a week ago with 100,000 miles, manual.

There are a few observations that I am concerned about as I haven't come across such behavior with any other cars that I have owned. I am wondering whether this is normal or something to look into further?
  1. After starting the engine and running it idle for 7 minutes at 82 Celsius engine coolant temp, 23.5% engine load the car idles at 1100rpm.
  2. Whilst idling, after 7 minutes (each condition checked individually) with everything turned off rpm at 1100:
  • Turning on low beam headlights adds up to 170rpm an increase to 1270rpm.
  • Turning on fog lights drops up to 50rpm a decrease to 1050rpm.
  • Turning on normal air fan adds up to 100rpm an increase to 1200rpm.
  • Turning on air conditioning initially shoots up to 1700rpm, once steady still adds up to 250rpm (overall) an increase to 1350rpm.
Thanks.

Just thought I would update this thread as I managed to resolve the issue.

So my car was idling at about 1100rpm which was not to spec (should be 700+-50 rpm) and I had experienced weird behaviours whilst driving especially with the revs rising and dropping in a loop like fashion when the clutch was fully depressed and held in that position.

After I had serviced my car which it was due for regardless, new air and cabin filter, oil and filter change, new spark plugs and cleaned the MAF sensor and the throttle body. Nothing had changed in that regards.

I was able to resolve the problem by following the Idle Air Volume Learning, which I didn't existed all I was aware of was that my car didn't have a manual throttle cable that could be adjusted but an automatic throttle module instead.

The procedure can be found in the Service Manuals tab on this website (almeraownersclub.com). For my car (Nissan Almera 2006 QG engine) it was the Almera N16 ACTUAL Phase 2 download > ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM (QUICK REFERENCE INDEX PAGE) > Page 45 - 47 (Without CONSULT-II) sections.

Hope that helps anyone experiencing a similar issue.

Thanks.
