    At last my own Z!

Ok, to put it this way. I have plenty of spare time and welding and other stuff will be done almost for free. Reason I bought this car is that any LHD 300zx back here costs like 5k and up. Seeing this for a silly price of 700euro there was rally no reason not to buy this, sure it's a rust bucket...

    At last my own Z!

Thanks corbs, I have plenty of hope :) Btw the whole car is hopefully getting sandblasted and soaked in a zinc bath. I really want to do this the proper way and have this car for at least another 10 years or till they ban petrol cars lol

    At last my own Z!

My uncle told me he seen worse and he did a lot of welding on cars. Said it's a 2 day job. I'd never do that, the almera is a good car for a starter and as a cheap runaround so I'll keep it that way :P

    At last my own Z!

Nah I'm keeping the mera stock for winter :P The VG is staying in the Z tho, too many issues involved with an engine swap.

If you thought the meras had bad rust check out this  Got me some welding to do :P

I quite like the SR20DET engine, simple, small and light. Think the VG with the tranny weights about 400-450kg's.

    At last my own Z!

Thanks. I just dumped the immobiliser and now the engine is cranking. Just that exhaust gases are comming from the radiator filler hole :P so as tommo said the headgasket is gone.

    At last my own Z!

lol, thanks for the comments guys. Reason I bought this one was that it's either this cheap restorable one or one from 6000euro and upwards. I bet in the long run I'll get close to the 4k mark but with a 'rust free' shell and a different engine possibly, not sure if I'll do a swap, either a...

    At last my own Z!

I got really lucky and found out that someone sells a Z32 for really really cheap (600 quid), needs lots of work done tho. The left sill is completely rusted, probably the floor needs welding new panels, engine wont start and pushes water out of the radiator and last but not least the whole...

    Tidy P1 GTi, Full Bodykit

If the car is in a really really good condition....distance is no object. I went twice for great cars and it was over 500km's but worth it.

My Almera 1.4 - total overhaul

Nah it was getting dark...it's actually red. Damn I just found out that the ph1 ecu won't work with the ph2 loom. The NATS receiver around the ignition barrel is different..more specificly the connector is different, I guess I can't just use the ph2 NATS receiver with a ph1 ecu or can I...

    Eddie's SRi

I might have mentioned I was specific for the GA engine. That should answer all your questions.

    Eddie's SRi

No...the stock is a 'power restricting exhaust' your 2.5" is a 'power drain exhaust'...you should never go bigger than 2 and 1/4 inch ever on a n/a 1.6 litre, proven stuff.

    OBX Power Pulley Kit sr20de

Might I add that a car alternator is only 50% efficient. And what you calculated is the power of the alternator, not the motor input. Just for info :P

    The ultimate GA16DE N/A build.

:D Just need to get the engine block honed and I can start assembling the engine. A question to anyone who builds engines, what kind of lube/grease do you use on the crank bearings etc. I've got some MOLYKOTE BR2, it's a high performance, high temperature and corrosion resistant...
