Not sure if anyone is following this but I have just replaced the rear back box on my '04 N16 2.2 DCi (YD22DDTi) SXE. The 136bhp version.
The correct part is not available off the shelf from generic parts suppliers. The only place to get it was Nissan for over £200.
I've replaced it with the...
Follow up for you. I just bought the mid-section for the 2.2 dci from Online Automotive. Good price too.
This part was in stock but they have a really good system for viewing each part. Even managed to order the correct exhaust gaskets thanks to the parts diagram.
Check here...
There's only one exhaust layout detailed in the N16 service manual for the YD engine.
But looking here, sure enough there's 2 types, one for the 118hp modal and one for the 136hp model. damn
Seems nowhere stocks the YD22DDTi exhaust. Might be available for order. Maybe try a place like this...
On your phone, open maps, hit the hamburger icon (the 3 lines) and select "offline areas".
Choose a custom area and then simply drag the area you want and download.
Obviously the more map you want the more storage you use up. Saves on data though!

That's easy. Download Google maps for offline so you don't need to use so much data when driving. I do 2000 miles a month all with Google maps turned on and never hit my 250mb limit!

Ah, if you're planning on going aftermarket stereo to accommodate a sub then make sure you get a model without sat nav!!
The sat nav kit is all tied into the car electrics and controls for the stereo and heater etc. You can't fit an aftermarket head unit essentially.

DCi is a heavy old lump at the front end so be prepared for understeer!
Sports springs may help with this though as it does have a healthy amount of roll in the corners.
However, the engine is fairly pokey (and smokey!) so performance wise you will have enough to keep you entertained as a first...
See here:http://www.programyourkeys.com/Nissan_Almera_Key_Remote_Control_Fob_Transponder_Programming.html
I followed these instructions recently and all went well. I did find that it's worth ensuring all doors are unlocked and the immobiliser hasn't engaged before starting the steps.
Odd, I'm having the same problem!
no response when using fob to unlock or lock.
manually open passenger door with key and this causes the hazards to flash (assuming immobiliser etc). To stop the flashing you have to put key in ignition and then unlock doors from the switch inside.
Almost seems...
Received a letter from Nissan today regarding a "potential safety concern with your Nissan Almera" - its like they knew it just failed the MOT!
The letter details the following:
Nissan has identified that a potential air leak on specific variants of "SPI" and "PSPI" passenger airbag inflators...
I've got the weird rectangle on one of my depos. It's only visible when you are really close to something though. Tbh I'm not convinced that the unit is fully aligned properly as the projector sits in a slightly different location in the unit than the other light.....

Been out of the jap scene for 2 years now after having changed my DC2 for a diesel Leon FR - got a job with a big ol' commute see....
Had enough of that and scaled down from a shiny new Leon to an Almera SXE which means I have pocket money for something on the side - enter a ratty ST185 GT4...
Does anyone know if there is any adjustment in the sensitivity of the rear parking sensors on the N16?
When reversing, the sensors on mine pick up objects behind very early and then gradually beep to a continuous tone at least a metre before I am anywhere near the object.
Where is the control...
Cheers guys!
I'll put some pictures up later in members rides and get a thread going.
Interested to see what bits you've got kicking about too...
I'm BenGT on HJC Ed. I'm in Bishops Waltham...

Hi AOC.
picked up a great condition SXE with all the toys last week to be my new daily.
Hoping to tweak it a bit over time (the modding has to fit in around working on my beat up ST185 GT4 Celica) starting with some wheels and springs.
Also want to do something about the front end.... Might...
