'01 Almera S Cold Start Problem?

Hi all,

I have a 2001 Almera S, completly standard.

It has seemed to have developed a problem though, when you start it from cold, and you come to a junction or something and to a stop, the revs drop almost like it's going stall, but when warmed up it's fine?

It's had a full service and new battery.

Any help on this issue would be most appreciated!

Cheers

diesel or petrol? if its petrol then id clean the idle control valve, unsure where it is on the almera but its somewhere on the air intake.

if its a diesel youve got id think the throttle cable will need adjusting, unless there elecronic control on the almeras then id say check the thermostatic switch, should be near the thermostat.

also regardless of petrol or diesel, check the fuel filter, could be the reason the engines starved when its cold

AFM?

the QG AFM's are known to be pretty bad when it comes to developing faults. try unplugging it, and see if you notice any change. if u dont, then its screwed, and ur up for a new one.

Thanks again, I have cleaned out the ISCV but to no improvement, I will give the AFM a try.

Where is the ATS located, and is it expensive to purchase?

Cheers
