2006 Almera replacement key fob

I’ve recently lost one key fob and I’m now down to my last key fob for my 2006 almera

I’m aware of the process of programming the fobs using the 6 on and off method.

My question is, can I buy a second hand fob off eBay and reprogram it to my car using the above method or is there more to it?

The 6 on/off is only for the central locking system.

You will still need to get the key coded to the ECU/immobiliser in order to start the engine.

Any auto locksmith should be able to do that for a reasonable fee.
