Fuel filter clogged (trying to think of the cheap things first)?

Alot of people always assume it` something expensive/major. 9/10 it`s something simple.

yeah all parts replaced due to same reason. second hand so not too expensive. changed fuel filter didnt make any difference.
driving through streets is just a nitemare car really uncomfortable 2 drive.

did you do the timing chain yourself? I would shudder to think what the labour is like changing that

plugs/leads

had similar problem, i was a lead not on the distributor properly, if all else fails try some injector and fuel line cleaner, i know rowdy doesn't agree with these but some do, my car is like shit of a shovel now in the high revs

No didnt do chain myself although work as mechanic so any job needing done doesnt cost much. changed plugs\leads checked connection on cap for leads as well. Not tried any injector cleaner yet but will give it a try.

Does it pull in a certain direction at all.? It could be a seized caliper, or possibly more than one if it seems quite severe.

I tried the injector cleaner made slight diference still holding back on the throttle tho!!
Anyone hear of almeras having sticky valves? cheers for all suggestions so far tho think site is great.

Is your throttle cable tight because mine was really slack and i wasent getting full blast! easy to adjust just like a breake cable on a bike!

yeah noticed that but its at end of threads. not much adjustment left. you can have foot right down on accelerator an have no power then suddenly the power kicks back in. No engine management light is on so gotta be summin simple.???
