Almera tino revs increase when clutch is pressed

Hi when I press the clutch the revs increase slightly. Any idea the cause? Thanks

hello, this doing when the engine is cold or hot???if this happens when it's cold normal, if this happens when it's hot, maybe you must check or change the sensor "dead", this keep the revolutions steady (750) when you push the clutch or when you don't have any gear on it.

Is it something that can be picked up on a diagnostic machine to tell which sensor it is?

no, you can't see this with diagnostic gauges, the only think that you need is an expirience engineer......

What is the dead sensor? Does it have another name?

Check and set your base idle after cleaning out the idle air control valve.
