Head on collision involving an N16!

Was out and about with work last night.As we drove round a bend we noticed all the cars in each lane had come to a hault.Could see 2 cars all smashed up from a distance,so we went to help(Blue lights of course) :D

Without going into specific details a Honda accord 2.0 LX had tried to pass traffic on a blind stretch of an A road.
A women in a 03 reg Almera had stopped and was waiting to turn right from the middle lane when this honda came from the front and smashed into her head on at 40/50 mph.
Her car was forced about 20 metres from a stand still and into the side of the road.
Everyone ended up alright :)

For the force of the knock the Almera seemed to fair pretty well really :eek:

Does any of you N16 owners know what type of collision bar/safety features are in the front of these cars etc...? Just curious.
 
Not certain about specific front-end safety features, but the N16 does get an NCAP score of 4/5, which is only one off the top rating.
I seem to remember on Top Gear, a few years ago, that even some of the big 4x4s were only getting 2 or 3 out of 5, so it's not too bad! :cool:
 
think thats probably some of renaults influence on the N16 going on there

glad to hear everyone was alright tho
