Heater Controls

Hi All,

I've got a problem with my heater controls, the one that determines the direction of air flow.

When i try to select either all airflow through the top vents, or all towards the windscreen - it just springs back round to the previous one - so i can only select 3 of the 5 directions.

I've had the centre section out and checked the control unit - there are no blockages and it doesn't look like there are any teeth in the plastic missing.

Any idea's?

It's more annoying than anything else!

Could be the wire caught on something, it goes down and towards the left from the unit.

You`ll have more the outer cable on the end that joins the heater control unit under the dash, as the cable has move losing some tension......look up from the drivers side as you move the control knob from side to side and you`ll see what i mean.

Thanks, I'll take another look tonight when i get in. I've traced the wire as far back as i can but can't see it caught anywhere or any obstructions

The strange thing is though, it's being working fine for the last 6 months, then all of a sudden this happened.

Its nothing to do with that. Just move the outer cable where it`s clipped down so its tighter.
