How to create a table in a forum post

Hi sorry if this is the wrong section not a complaint just I was wondering if there was a way to setup a table in a forum post so that I can more easily collect some information together? - the help didn't seem to have anything I needed.

I done this in a long while but is it possible to use html to make a table if there is not facility in the forum itself?
 
Not as far as I am aware as standard. There may be some sort of hack/plugin to do it.

People before have just copied in an image of an excel table or similar, which is probably you're only option at the moment.
