yea it sounds like my exhaust and engine noise, where will i get an interferance suppressor from and how much cheers

not necessarily, do you have your power cable and RCA cables running down the same side of the car as this is a common mistake people make.

if not then this might be a solution, i had my cables seperate and got a little engine noise through my subs because one of the rca cables had been crushed, splitting the insulation and so the wires were contacting the body work, check this.

you need to make sure you`ve a good earth and that your cables run seperatly from the front of the car to the rear. If you hunt around in the boot you`ll find some bolts that go directly to the chassis, using one of these keeps the lead nice and short to your amp. Also check your power cable is not running near any ht leads or anything to do with igntion under ya bonnet.

make sure your power cable runs down the opposite side of the car to your rca's

try bigger earth

or a suppressor :D

Make sure.....
1.Earth is to bare metal (unpainted)
2.Phono leads are on seperate sides to the power cables.
3.You earth your amp before you plug your phono leads in as some Pioneer units and some JVC units will pop a small resistor in the unit, as the phono leads will act as an earth for a split second. ( just happened to me, this was a warranty claim luckily)

If all else fails you will need a GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR which plugs inline with your phono leads and retail at about 20 quid.
Hope this helps.

moved my phono leads to the other side of my car from the power cable, but its still doing it, in the almera theres several bolts holding a piece of grey/silver metal on behind the seats thats where i have put the earth cant see any other place, any suggestions on where is a good bit in the almera is, i took my head unit out and did NOT start the car when i moved the cables think there the iso conectors on my head unit i could hear the sub making thuding noises, my iso conectors/wires on my head unit have tons of joining blue crimp bits and tape im thinking this could be a possible cause 2 it. will i get a GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR from ebay or halfords ?

might be related, i had all my cables down one side and had very little engine feedback noise but then i put in a power cap and it get a lot worse, a lot louder, had to turn the music right up so it didnt do your ears in, thats when i moved the rca cables, it helped quieten it a bit, but i put up wit it for a while and then all of a sudden one day no annoying engine noise throught the speakers and it hasnt returned since, i did nothing to stop it so i have no idea what happened to stop it haha

lol, so what do youz think will be better or will work in this situation a GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR , or a interferance suppressor ?

i had same problem with my almera gti, if it ant the suppressor which its proberly not, your head unit is not working properly, try another, newer head unit and see wat happens.

if you run teh power and signal cables down the same side of the car, you'll get interference that way. I run the power and RMT leads down one side, RCA down the other.

finally got it fixed put my old head unit in and it works fine no interferance must be somthing to do with the wires on my old one cheers fer all the help
