Immobiliser light on

Hi, new to the forum so apologies if this has been posted elsewhere. My wife has a 53 reg Almera which had a battery issue. The battery was taken off the car and fully charged but now the car won't start, just get a clicking noise and the following lights. I presume the immobiliser needs to be reset but not sure how to do it. Any suggestions great fully received.

Starter should turn even if NATS is triggered. It will cut fuel supply, not starter power.

Clicking noise but no crank = bad battery or starter gave up the ghost.
Measure battery voltage when trying to crank. If battery voltage is ok, try giving the starter motor a few love taps with a rubber mallet or a sturdy wooden stick.

EDIT: If the battery issue came up all of a sudden, there could be something else electrical at fault. Check and clean the main grounds if necessary (these apply to the petrol N16, not sure about diesel) above the exhaust manifold and under the battery tray. Also check that the wires going to the battery posts are free of corrosion.
