Hello. I found my 1997 1.4l GX near death in the back of a trade yard with 90,000 on clock (used as a trade vehicle for small scale construction). With £200 left in my pocket 9 years ago i bought her. The gearbox and suspension were knackered, dents on wings, missing wing mirror, busted instrument cluster, knackered alternator, no service for yonks. So bit by bit i bought parts from breakers fixed her up, replaced gearbox/alternator/instrument cluster, gave her a thorough engine clean, filled panels, replaced sills, instalked/wired gti spoiler, wacky racer paint/sticker job and new budget tyres and she was my family runaround and work commuter for 8 years ending up on 220,000 miles. Better times with income, and buying Volvo xc90 bus for family, i took her off road and been doing a full turbo conversion on her for fun with plan to go on fun rallies. I decided not to do Sr20de engine swap as to be honest i am attached this old engine and wanted to give it some extra pep. Plus challenge myself. i have Used intercooler and Garret GT15 turbo with internal wastegate i refurbished from bmw diesel, adapted downpipe from Subaru, turbo manifold for 1.8l Sentra from USA, ebay pipes for induction and exhaust, turbo T control valve connected to wastegate, and oil feed/drain and Greddy sequential BOV, piggyback Perfect Power SMT8L for ECU control, Tim Turbo classic boost guage, NACA duct on bonnet for top mounted intercooler air flow. So with history done, stumbling block now is i need to upgrade fuel injectors. I bought Sr20de injectors wrongly thinking they would fit N15 fuel rail. So any suggestions about best plan for injector upgrade on GA14DE? Also, i have put BOV vacuum line to fuel pressure regulator (is this best place, any better suggestions?). And boost guage line to vacuum source directly behind throttle body (is this best place, any better suggestions?). I have picked up some great tips from forum and thanks for this amazing resource being open, great to have finally joined it!
