My n15 sedan build

A few months back I got this 1998 gx almera that had belonged to a family member for the last 15 years and decided to start building it into a vzr sedan rep

The day I got the car home

The first job on the list was to fix a small patch of rust on the front crossmember and repaint it

after I had the crossmember repaired I starting inspecting the car for anymore rust and to my surprise I couldn't find any real rot in the car only the odd spot hear and there of surface rust

After removing the rear tow bar I pressure washed rear of the car and to my surprise there was zero rust and paint was still like new

After I had the car inspected and knew the shell was soild then the task of getting the vzr parts I needed began

Hey man, really nice to see a sedan for a change! Looks to be in really good condition.

Rust-wise, pull the trim in the boot and thoroughly inspect the seam sealer around the rear strut towers. Also check behind the plastic trim between the C-pillar and back seats.

I had mine go really bad unnoticed in those locations. Once rust/moisture gets behind the undercoating in the rear arches, it will eat everything. From the rear arches it will have access to the sills, rear strut towers, behind the back seats, everywhere. Be sure to take out the plastic shielding for the fuel filler pipe, you'll probably find a lot of dried up dirt there. Helps keep the filler neck free of rust.

Also, be sure to clean out the front arches where it meets the sill (behind the fender liner.) since mud and dirt has a nice "pocket" to gather there.

Another tip, make sure the drain holes in the doors (at the very bottom of the door) are clear. If not, water will accumulate there and eventually rust out the bottom parts of the door.

Picked up some tein coilovers for the saloon
