Ripped it off :lol:. It was nice don't get me wrong but I think this'll be nicer.
 
Have you tried flipping it over and having it as a chin spoiler underneath a bit like the N15 VZR one? Give you a bit of a deeper bumper up front. Worth a look before you fix it on top of the old bumper. Proper old school vauxhall mod that with the SR Nova, Astra etc. You'll have less shaping work to do too. Pics of mock-up please!
 
This is for the rear, I did say ;).

But anything just flipped would still need shaping otherwise you've just got a thin edge of plastic. Would look a bit cack and DIY. It would need rounding and thickening on its edges but if u do that then yeah cool idea :).

This rear one needs no more shaping anyway and the bit of cutting with a dremel was a doddle really :).

Re the front though I like the cupra splitter, that's staying, but I would like to bulk out the sides, so some spats would be a nice addition. Something to match the lines from the skirts. I've got my eyes on a splitter on eBay which once cut would suit nicely.

Right, back to performance and I'm waiting on a quote from a local transmission specialist to fit the LSD. I'm also getting my hybrid plus a spare 727477 sent to TT this week. This means i'll be sorting my Forge IC too in time for delivery. Just needs checking for leaks and I think I need to replace a couple of hoses which look questionable after the crash.

Bonnet on order from Nissan today to be sent to my GRP team. One more peice in this puzzle is the bumper/grille mount, and then we're SO sorted :).

Priming the rear apron tomorrow, second lacquer coat on the mud guards too.

is it worth contacting nissan about headlights? just i pretty certain the recall didnt change mine, old man owned the car b4 me so didnt check

As per WCMUT thread, turbo has been picked up by Turbo Technics to sort out the hybrid, aaaand Quaife have confirmed an LSD for my box is in stock AND will even stick it on the group buy discount at the same price!

Fooking made my day that has! :)
 
Not yet mate. I want to sort the hybrid first. Not sure how much repair bill is going to cost but after that I'll know how much I've got to play with. Then decision and research time. With the VNT control I need to make sure that the Dastek can handle to mapping of that. If it can't it's straight back to Leeds :).
 
I've no doubt that I will mate ;) This engine feels stronger, and I now have the Forge intercooler rather than the ebay special one. Paul said that with a better intercooler I'd make more power. But I do want to try 1.6 BAR over the 1.5 (1.25 standard), as I reckon that'll take me into the high teens, maybe even low 220's. What ever peak figure I get, I know it's going to drive so fecking well after the remap again :D

great news ed, good to hear your back on the road to where you were pre ding. are you sticking with the same spec as last time for the turbo, or are you changing it up a bit?
 
Same spec. It's most they could get out of it due to parts and housing restrictions. I could do for a different turbo but it wouldnt be a direct fit so would need more money for manifold adaptor and exhaust downpipe. To be honest any larger and you're going to get more lag and in a diesel that's not good unless it's IDI which rev to like 6k rpm, and I know there's more to go with this current turbo anyway :). If I want to get more than 240hp then I think that's when I'll have to think about another turbo.

I'm a bit on the wire with the LSD actually. I need to confirm it's fitment as there's an overlap with the A33 maxima in terms of engines and tranny usage. Big thing about different gens and transmission/diff compatibility that's a bit of a minefield so need to confirm. Might not fit but if it doesnt then it'll be a new Nissan HLSD from the US which WILL fit :).
 
yeah i hear you on the different turbo costs, but it's good to know that you've got the current turbo tweaked to it's limits and i think 240bhp should be fun enough lol :shades:

if there is any help i can give re part numbers/fast etc for the lsd just give me a shout :)
