N16 DCi-R

the r32 gtr calipers are 4 pot brakes. so definately an excellent gain to be had.

disc size = 324×30
but some shaving of the disc is needed.

there is a good write up on pga about the r32 brake upgrade.

whats needed, is new calipers, new brake lines, new discs(have to have these machined, and correct stud pattern drilled), pads, and your all set.

probably a cheaper option than the brembo upgrade, but i'd be looking into it from your end. its been done here before, on n14's, n15's and n16 pulsars, all using the n16 hubs, which are a direct fit to the n14s and n15s for others interested in this.

forgot to post. you will have problems with rim selections with the r32 calipers. can get some 16 inch wheels to fit, but they are far and few between.

Brembo's already being delivered. Have 17s so there is a much larger gap . A good half inch at least Id say. When progressing to 18s on 205/40's will look great! :)

I just found out my headlights are outstanding from the recall, which is good news for me as I thought they were pretty crap :p

There's also another outstanding thing which is something to do with intake. Needs ECU updating from what I gather. Guy on the phone was pretty vague but I'll chase them up for more info next Monday when I take the car in to Nissan.

So to anyone else with a phase 2 N16, it's worth checking with Nissan if you need anything updated. All recall stuff is done with no charge.

Wash, Polish and Wax. Shiny

Car's been to Nissan and back now. They gave me a new black Micra for the day (powered by half a hamster I think). Lights are spot on now, huge difference. Also ECU was replaced in the recall too. Smoother in the lower gears now I find. Need to check if it's affected my MPG though by the end of this tank of fuel.

A nice update :)

After much fighting with a seized bolt the fronts are on (rears next weekend).

KYB ExcelG gas shocks
H&R springs
16" Rota Grids
205/55 Falken ZE912

Even with just the fronts on it's sooo much more responsive. I'm a happy chap :D

How did you sort the rear fitment problem in the end?

Ended up removing the hub caps as couldnt modify. Placed plastic over the hole which should still protect it  I'll keep an eye on them.

Forgot to mention my weight saving :D
Stock wheel with 195/55/16 = 17.3kg
Rota wheel with 205/55/16 = 17.1kg
I think the shocks were pretty much the same weight in the end as the KYB's are chunkier than stock.

800g saving which isnt much, but when it's rotating mass reduced it's gotta be something :p

Bonus points for you sir. I wondered if anyone would spot the N15 :D

Purple car is my Mum's escort cabriolet, (I like to steal my parent's drive to do work on my car ) but my dad's got an E36 M3 Evoloution so that evens it up a little.
