N16 Problem

As you can see in the picture the right shows the plastic/rubber is not tucked into my roof and on the left picture its
tucked into my roof so I was wondering what should it be ?

should it be tucked into my roof or tucked into my rood

Just had a look at mine. The whole length of mine is the same as the bit in the right-hand circle on that pic of yours. My windscreen is the factory fitted original.
