replace timing chain info please

hi all ive just ordered a new timing chain and looking at auto data it says i need to apply air pressure using air gun to inlet camshaft oil way i have a compressor do i need some sort of gun to do this ? and what dose applying air do please
 
Applying air is onnly needed if its got NVCT. Its to engage the advanced timing so you dont ruin the internals of the sprocket when undoing the bolt.
