So we know that the airbag can be reset and that keys can be reprogrammed by turning the ignition x amount of times then closing the doors etc.

Can we make this thread into a definitive guide of all the tricks and hacks out there than you can do with your Almera? :)

For example, the key programming trick:

good idea, but aren't all of these 'tricks' available in the Nissan FSM?

the trick i needed for the airbag was covered in the FSM..

What is this mystical manual of which you speak? :) Yes I am a noob.

That looks like a different fob programming sequence to what i did? You sure thats the right one??
It was more of a hold the buttons for certain lengths of time and watch til the red light stops flashing each time. Also there is no mention of the MASTER Fob on that one??

Like this one?

in that last photo, is that a fob, or the master? thats the only one ive got for my car and im still unsure if its the master or not, and if its not, then what the hell do i do!

the master fob has "MASTER" written on it, and only has one button on it.

the normal fobs have "NATS" written on it, and have two buttons.

if you have one that says "NATS" but only one button, thats the nissan remote central locking kit... if so, gimme a shout and i'll help ya out :)

shit, thats the only fob i have, is there anyway (aside from going to nissan) to get a master and another fob?

in that first post it says pressing unlock once only unlocks drivers dooor and pressing it twice unlocks all doors, but i just press unlock once and it opens drivers and passengers. is that right?

Yeah that's right mate dont worry, not sure where the info in the original post is from.

as far as i know, you'll need a new alarm control unit (I could be wrong). I'd try and find a second hand one on here if i was you, about £300 from nissan!!
Ask someone who's breaking their GTi, should get one pretty cheap :).

is there a trick for reprograming the red chip in the key do you need a master key or somthing for that ???
