Going to get a respray done on my n15 gti ...its the blue phase2 just wondering wether to get the door handles and the door bumpstrips done aswell...

I think they look ok but what do the rest of the members think?

pics would be good of any p2`s with this done as it will help make my mind up!
    Thanks

depends on what your after really, the black adds contrast which does break up the side a bit and imo looks good, however colour coding makes it look more modern and smoothens the side. if you want it smoother then colour coded it and it will look good, if you leave it black then it breaks up the colour and imo looks slightly better although that can depend on the colour and even down to what wheels and mods the car has, standard looks best with black but some modified cars look better with colour coding imo

I kinda know what you mean, the car is lowered with 18" wheels on it and i rekon keepin the black would look good specially on the blue, however i think colour coding looks neat on other colours like the red...but not sure about the blue ! has anyone done this?

I'd colour code it as opposed to removing it like some people prefer to do. something looks missing if they're not there, but colour coding them modernises teh appearance somewhat.

I think having the handles and bump strips black looks good on the GTi...it looks a bit weird (imo) having nothing to break up the bodywork. I don't think the N15's suit being all one colour....but that's just my personal opinion :)

you getting it resprayed the same colour or going for something a bit different? How much is it costing you, if you dont mind me asking? i've been considering having it done for a while, but all the quotes I've had so far are more than I'd get if I sold the car probably!

Hmmm I was thinking of colour coding the handles but now i'm not so sure.

They're a bit faded and dodgy though at the mo.

Get some chrome handles or just some new ones...dont paint them, it never works properly and you have to sand them like anything to get the paint to stick.

That is an awesome price! what's the place called where you're getting it done? I think I can justify £600 ;)

Got mine painted and they're fine. No hassles. A car resprayer should be able to make paint stick to just about anything.

well as long as you sand so they're rough then primer, spray and laquer like most things it should turn out fine. hardest part will be colour match. I'd get garage to do it though cos im lazy!
