Rough idle stalling

Hi guys,new here long time n16 driver (5 yrs)
Had idling problem,obd p0505 & p0100
Iac mil cleared but maf didn't
So changed maf,she runs fine for 20 mins or so then stalls on a stop.
Took out iac and cleaned it,no sign of damage or melting so popped her back in,same problem
Has anyone any info on this,anything would be greatly appreciated
Car is 2000 N16 1.5 saloon
Thanx in advance guys

What`s a lac mil? and or iac? never used a code reader for owt so i`m probably not best to offer advice but,when was the fuel filter changed last?

iac-idle air control valve... lac mil? never heard of that before.

Have you checked to see if you have a code logged again and the maf a new one?

Mil is the engine warning light or check engine light
Malfunction indication lamp @luvrust
I A C obd code is between p0500 and p0509
@charley,nothing more has come up
I don't think it's the IAC as something would show up
It's as if the butterfly valve just closes when I stop,there is no fuel filter in the mk2 saloon,there is however a fuel screen in the fuel tank,not accessible though!

so you must have a throttle position sensor and there is a way to reset it.
i don't have a clue about how to! you will have to do some homework on that score.

Have you checked to see if there is a filter inline with the fuel tank under the car?

@charley,would that be a cam sensor ?
And I cannot find a fuel filter
No Haynes but have google lol

@Spook
Yea I had it on a Nissan diagnostic in the garage and everything (sensors) are working fine
I can't see any damage,crimped,melted or pinched cables
I was advised by the Nissan mech to change the throttle body but I don't think there is anything wrong it

Ok so just an update on the stalling issue,had 3 mechanics check out the car and only the last figured that it must be a vacuum leak as every sensor is working!!
So now the task of finding a vacuum leak starts!!
Wish me luck!!

Well I tried that and an Aldi fog machine! Only found a leak on the Maf housing but even after repairing that,I still have the same issue,how can I check the hole engine,I'm thinking a seal or a gasket may be leaking but even with the throttle open,I'm not seeing anything,I did notice though that the flexi on the exhaust is away on the back section,could this be causing it?

“Idle Air Volume Learning” is an operation to learn the idle air volume that keeps each engine within the specific range. It must be performed under any of the following conditions:
+ Each time IACV-AAC valve, throttle body or ECM is replaced.
+ Idle speed or ignition timing is out of specification.

PRE-CONDITIONING
Before performing “Idle Air Volume Learning”, make sure that all of
the following conditions are satisfied.
Learning will be cancelled if any of the following conditions are
missed for even a moment.
+ Battery voltage: More than 12.9V (At idle)
+ Engine coolant temperature: 70 - 99°C (158 - 210°F)
+ PNP switch: ON
+ Electric load switch: OFF
(Air conditioner, headlamp, rear window defogger) On vehicles equipped with daytime light systems, set lighting switch to the 1st position to light only small lamps.
+ Cooling fan motor: Not operating
+ Steering wheel: Neutral (Straight-ahead position)
+ Vehicle speed: Stopped
+ Transmission: Warmed-up

1. Turn ignition switch “ON” and wait at least 1 second.
2. Turn ignition switch “OFF” and wait at least 10 seconds.
3. Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
4. Check that all items listed under the topic “PRE-CONDITIONING” (previously mentioned) are in good order.
5. Turn ignition switch “OFF” and wait at least 9 seconds.
6. Start the engine and let it idle for at least 28 seconds.
7. Disconnect throttle position sensor harness connector (brown), then reconnect it within 5 seconds.
8. Wait 20 seconds.
9. Make sure that idle speed is within specifications. If not, the result will be incomplete. In this case, find the cause of the problem by referring to the NOTE below.
10. Rev up the engine two or three times. Make sure that idle speed and ignition timing are within specifications.

ITEM SPECIFICATION
Idle speed M/T: 700±50 rpm
A/T: 800±50 rpm (in “P” or “N” position)
Ignition timing M/T: 8±5° BTDC
A/T: 10±5° BTDC (in “P” or “N” position)

Here you go m8, i have to say this: use this information at your own risk.
That beeing said, i have tried this method myself, and the engine does indeed acelerate and decelerate by itself a little, however it keeps stalling after a while... i've replaced my iacv, cost 180€ new!

Cheers pal
I'm bringing it up to my mate who has the X431 program so he's guna try that and see,I'm in Dublin and the price of an IACV from mooneys was €300!!
So just like tesco,every little helps hahaha
I'll let ha know how I get on on Monday @foxalhao

@rowdy-GTi
The chain was changed in October just gone
The fuel pump is internal so hard to check,she only stalls when stationary or if I coast and the revs drop and boom she's gone!!
Getting her IACV re learn done on Monday,so hoping that might solve the problem
