Salvaged satnav

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if i could find a satnav unit from a salvaged car, how easy is it to migrate it to my almera which does not have that feature?

The whole radio would have to be replaced, and maybe some stuff reprogramed?

Has anyone done it?
 
Nissan would have to code the unit to the car which iirc is £50-80. Is your current unit faulty hence the need for replacement? As there is no guarantee the one from a breaker would function as a pal found out after having to pay Nissan to code the new unit and still not being able to make use of the sat nav. I would say save your money buy a separate sat nav with better features and use it instead.
