What size are the speakers for the Almera GTi front doors?

And they are round not 6x8 or some dodgy shape?!

I blew m front passenger side and need to get a replacement :(

i dont know the exact size but they are oval and look a little smaller than 6x9's - like these

They're 6X4s, but they are set into a removable circular plate. I think the plate is 17 cm??? Your best bet is to take out your door cards and measure it up (10 minute job). I've got some 16.5 cm components to go in mine, but I might have to make up some mounting plates for them to fit properly.
Hope that helps.

6x4, i just wanna replace them for std speakers as one has blown, nout special

All I'm saying is that the speakers are fixed to the plate, so you might struggle to get a straight swap, without getting another one with the plate from a scrappy or from Nissan, for which you'll probably pay over the top. However, don't quote me on this, I'm saying what I've seen from looking at mine.

I've just replaced my speakers and I have 2 standard ones sitting about if your interested.

ok sent pm to Matt GTi

I shall see what to do then...

Thanks for help

what have most poeple replaced there front speakers with, that have upgraded?

I have 17cm in my gx upfront... Needed to make an mdf spacer and cut a small part of the door out but not as much effort as it sounds..

edit:

decided to take some pics

The top pic shows the 17cm speaker and mdf spacer and the bottom pic is where im putting the tweeters from the componants, Just the inside mirror card with a peice of tubing smoothed into it.

Top bloke, I should be changing my front speakers soon, and wondered what the spacers looked like.

cheers - will get some finnished pics up

Bit of a tip for making the mdf spacer - The original speakers are only held in with 3 screws, I used the same ones which have a large head/spacer on them so i had to drill and countersink those so that the speaker could sit ontop without interferance.

If you want some technical drawings I could knock some up for you no probs.. just let me know.

edit: Just remembered that the original wiring for the speakers is via ribon and goes to a weird connector, Just unsolder the connector from the standard speaker and then wire it onto the new one, that is if you cant be assed to re-run speaker cable from the headunit.

Headunit > ribon connector > speaker connector > short cable > speaker
