*ignition should not be ignition should be something like engine started or what ever anyway

Basically I am wondering the split charge kit is for use when the engine is off right ? My head unit is powered from the original battery that means when it is off my original battery is not connected to my amps. so there for how is my head unit going to turn on the amps because there is no circuit

the amps are connected to the 2nd battery
so when the relay is off (disconnecting the batteries)
my head unit will send a +12 to my amps but my amps are getting power from the 2nd battery which does not make a circuit so I was wondering how would this work

unless youve got like 3000W RMS you really donot need 2 battery's - just makes your car slower and heavier

heres a diagram and heres some information witha step by step on a toyota:

well my Mono block for my sub is 1200watt RMS already looking to get another monoblock the same so I can run them in series.

that diagram still does not show me how it would work
if the engine is off and my car radio is on that means its using the original battery so therefore how will it turn my amps on because it is sending a +12 signal to the amps and the amp will not pick it up as it is connected to the 2nd battery not the original.
