As anyone tried changing the steering wheel on a N16? If so can you give some details as to how difficult it was and how to go about it.

I've not come across much on it at all. I might have take a trip down to the local nissan garage when I get back and see if they can shed any light on it

you need a replacement collapsible center hub thingie..
if you get a momo steering wheel, you also buy a momo center hub thingie.. (sorry guys i don't know what it's called)
it should be no biggie at all.. the hardest part is disconnecting your airbag and making the airbag light stop shining.
you don't need a "kit" to do it.
