Stereo in lower Din Hole

Does anyone have there stereo in the lower DIN hole?

If so,
1. have you got a pics of how it looks
2. Is it a pain in the ar$e to use
3. Can you see the screen ok (becuase of the angle and low position)
4. Do all of the cables reach ok or do you need extensions for any of them, like the areial or ISO stuff

it will fit and work fine i had it that way in the old almera found it alot easyer to use asell and the gear stick dosent hit it

I have in my Primera :)

Got mine at the bottom too, had to entend the wires slightly as they wouldn't reach (last owner cut wires to get radio out as garage I got it from got an autoelectrician to put a new one in) but apart from that is ok there. Aerial reached ok it was the ISO plugs that needed extending on mine but as long as yours haven't been tampered with it should reach ok. Can see it ok and is still enough room to be able to put a cd while in 1st, 3rd and 5th gears.

I was planning to do this and put a row of gauges in the top slot, I had not thought about a screen in the top slot. Maybe I will now though, that looks top.

Where can I get a copy of this software and a cable to make it work?

Any Idea

that screen looks well good, but haven't decided what to put in top slot yet.

Was thinking just a cup holder but seriously re-thinking about a screen, do you need a dvd / playstation etc as well for the screen to actually do anything useful? or do these screens have a combined dvdplayer or similar?

Blazt do a USB one or PMLS do a serial one. Both sell the software too. Martin (Blazt) is registered on NPOC.. both links are on the contacts page of toms site (see below)

Here's Tom's site for the software.. http://home.curl.aunz.net/tpkolo/DataScan.htm

Here's a couple of chops. On the second one the big orange square is the shift indicator :)

You need a computer to connect the interface up to then the computer displays the image. Can your HU take a video input at all ?? VGA or S-video or just RCA video ???

VGA is the 15 pin monitor cable.

I asked because you asked if you could hook it up to your HU

There is a pocket PC version of the software being written by a guy on sr20forum
