max speed in gear...
1st - 36mph
2nd - 61mph
3rd - 87mph
4th - 115mph
5th - 149mph
reverse - 35mph

so the VE has done 149mph and would have done more than 150mph if i had an 8k limiter...ooooooof. stu i dare say you would have been doing 150mph if you have a 7250rpm rev limit :D

redline is 6500rpm, but the needle limits at 7100 i think but because of the inaccuracy of the tacho the 6500 redline on the clock is the real limit. i.e. if the tacho was 100% accurate then the needle would bounce on the 6500 redline.

please correct me if im wrong someone lol

In my old micra K11 998, I had it off the end of the speedo - doing an indicated 115!

When i was using the APEXi SAFC the indicated rev limit on display was something like 6750rpm on my 1.4, i imagine thats pretty accurate. The innacurate tacho goes round to about 7200 though.

1.4 box FTW - IIRC 148mph on stock rev limit.

I get 152mph with OE Gti box/wheels/tyres ( dunno where 159 came from )

With my N1 box and 7.3k i get:

1st:32
2nd:56
3rd:85
4th:112
5th:145
 
all of my terminal speeds on the 1/4 mile are 87mph and thats hitting the limiter in 3rd almost everytime
 
i always remember on the sunny, the redline was 6600rpm (if you look at the clocks 6500rpm isnt it red :) ) and the needle went round to 7200 ish just like the GTi does
 
The weird thing is these ratios never seem to match.

When I had the Micra at TOTB 6, I was crossing the line (1 mile marker) at about 8000 rpm in 5th gear. This was on 225/50 15 tyres.

In theory, the car should have been in the 179 - 180 mph area, but the speed trap clocked me at 169 mph.

Now, the TACH was dead on accurate, so something was obviously wrong.

Still felt bloody quick though!

I'll need to see what I can pull in the Almera before it goes...LOL!
 
@sam try changing gears a bit ealier on 1/2 so that when you come to change from 3-4th youll have more time in 4th might give you better 1/4 mile times :D i never hit the limiter as after 6500rpm you start to lose power and on the limiter you not accelerating either ;)

Even with my lower power 1.8 it's the same deal. I change up at approx 6300 rpm because the power starts to tail off after that. I'd be hitting the limiter too if I left it in 3rd and losing a few tenths, so 4th it is for crossing the line. :)

I did think this once I had got back and thought about what was happening, taking every gear to the limiter :O
 
If were having a wee comp to see who has done the fastest i'll beat you all :D
I'll chuck pic up when I get home.

that aint that much to be honest mate! one of the lads that i went to gemany with had 165 outa his gsxr 1100 and his was standard apart from a race can! one of the others had 210 on his gsxr thou but thats had a few thousand of preformance parts put on.
 
ahh shit thats nothing yo swear I racked up like 300mph on my yammy aerox up hill an everything :cool:
