Upgrading my door speakers?

So thinking the sub isn't really what I'm looking for and gonna change direction and want to get a decent door of door speakers. Can anybody recommend any? How much of a difference would changing my door speakrs give me cause never heard of upgraded door speakers.

Upgrading the front door speakers (16.5cm) are only really going to give you louder, crisper, better sound. If your after BASS then you going to either have to go down the route of sub+amp etc etc, or if you dont want to sacrifice your boot space like me then just get a good quality set of 6x9's and a small (say 250watt) 2channel amp. This setup should be adiquate, mine shakes my back window enough that i cant tell who's behind me, and new shouldnt cost more than a couple hundred squid, obviously if go to places like ebay you could get it dirt cheap.
BUT bear in mind this will all depend on your head unit/stereo... a decent cd player etc is a must for decent sounds.
Personally id recommend ALPINE, but im sure there willl be people who'll argue that lol.

Get some Vibe QB69's they provide plenty of bass, those coupled with a decent amp, shook everything, dont cost the earth either.

I`ve just upgraded my door speakers and tweeters from standard to some MB-Quart DSF-213s, run through an amp.
It was well worth doing, and really highlighted how average the OEM stuff was, particularly the tweeters...
Sound wise, everything sounds a lot tighter, cleaner, and the stereo imaging is *way* better, I wish I had done it sooner tbh.

I've got a couple of Rainbows in the front, I'm not crazy about them. I'm not running them off a seperate amp though, which probably isn't helping matters.

I found the speakers/headunit combo, whatever was OEM in my 98 si to be the best sounding speakers I've ever heard in a car...

A couple more suggestions....
If you want to save money, buying from the US gets you alot for your money. For example look at the discounts going on here:

Maybe asking them to label purchases as a gift could help you to avoid any import tax?

Also consider what you want the components to sound like, depending upon what sort of music floats your boat. You can get hints about this from looking at forums like:

Did you replace the tweeters in the standard locations?

^Yes I did.^
They just about fit in, but the next step may be to cut the trim panel, so that I can angle the tweeters correctly. Should improve the sound a bit...
