Well its up to you. if you get a cheapish amp it will not sound as good as that alpine and if you blast the music the amp will degrade its quality quite quickly with the cheap amps. as with the alpine you have nothing to worry about.

if you wont pay that for a amp, then you wont be paying much for the sub, which means.........
    drum roll
unless its knock off, or a bargin second hand sub, it wont be 1000 watts, well reall measured watts that proper euipment uses
them amps are cheap, and alphine which aint that good either (imo)

Genesis as far as i hear are probably the best. From personal experience i had JBL and have no complaints, gave my Type R sub more than enough power. Vibe i hear are also quite good. But having seen Naylors install - i'd listen to him ;)

Oh yes - ORION - friend had a really expensive install with ORION sub and Amp - sounded amazing. He told me they were pricey though, never looked them up myself. The sub was super sexy though

vibe is average boy racer crap, second time ive heard of orions come up, both times its been some one else whos knows some one, never seen it anywhere so i'd not judge on it.
audioson, dls, sinfoni, brax, tru technology, Mcintosh, becker, helix, zapco, jl, PG, I may have been a little harsh about rockford and alphine earlier, but they do have some crap stuff out, and that really drags them down in my opionon. Theres tons more, and most of it is stuff where people say ' I never heard of them? ' Some of those above are also more american based, ie the zapco and tru technology

easy tiger, i got some vibe coaxal/components in the front of my old bus, they are good as gold.

but my mate has a 10", 12" and a 15" vibe subs in his 306 and they are total shite, sound quality is absolutely bollox. he thinks they are great, but then he thinks his 306 xsi is great

they will sound better than your standards, but for the cash you could of bought better sounding ones
lower end car audio stuff tend to reproduce strong treble and midrange, and as most people who uprate their systems are young-ish, then they listen to dance/R&B etc, on these sort of tracks they sound alright, but still not as good as a decent set

the only thing i'd have out of the pioneer range is the P9R headunit(which is awesome and I do have one), and the P9 DEQ (the digital eq that wasnt available when I bought my TidEQ, or i'd have one of those too)
the rest of the range is pretty average, screens etc seem quite good, although if i was going to get an average priced HU, i'd probs go for the pioneer as i like the layout, ease of use on the move, and the sound is pretty good still for the cash

as for the rest, speakers and amps, didnt bother

I'll have a look later, I think they might have stopped production on it, the HU alone is over a grand like
