when i went to wire my door speakers up the input for the speakers? wel i cnt work out which side of the flat wire thing is for positive is negative? any ideas would be greatly apreciated

I replaced my door speakers a while back and though dam what the hell is that! I sacked off using the flat wiring thingy,lol And just ran normal speaker wire to the head unit.Just an option really.
how did you get wires from the door to the head unit? which wires going into the headunit are the front speakers? cheers

I ran a wire from the speakers in the door,through the door card and to the head unit.Then I covered up the wire with red wire covers and it looks good that way.I can't say what wire runs to the head unit cause it's just part of the wiring harness,just match the color of the previous wire from the door speaker mate.Hope this helps mate.Sparky or naylor GTi will have the answer for you if you PM them?

so did ur wires go through the gromit alryte etc?
I didn't use the grommet mate

ahh i see mate could be the best option i reckon, unless somebody noes which is which wire on the flat wiring

Just make sure the metal does not cut into the wire or you are screwed. any way I think that its best to use gromets. I have put mine into the original grommets i have a N16 so its different.

Yeah I was a bit wary of that but Ihave had no problems at all.The wire fits nice and tidy when I shut the door.The grommets on the door are a pain to get a wire through it you see

Ive gone through the rubber pipe which tales the wires for the door electrics with some uprated speaker cable. Takes a while, but worth it when its done.

just wire them in both the same way on each side, and have a listen, if they're wrong they'll sound wrong, thats how I work them out, just listen to them both ways, the right way will sound more bassier
or if you want to run a wire theres a grommet in the A piller behind the top hinge, then use a dremmel to put a small hole in your door for the wire next to the nissan big grommet, then the wire folds behind the original wire and looks neat, you'll need to put a grommet in the new hole youve drilled though or you'll rub through the wire and maybes cause a short or worse, a fire

If you can't get a grommet give me a shout i've got plenty of lamp sealer and used it on mine its just as good
