XS Power Manifold

Hi there has anyone fitted one of the XS Power Tubular Manifolds (on ebay currently) with Downpipe. If so what is the quality of the item and does it fit easily on to the N15 Almera GTi.

An exhaust manufacturer told me "don't use the american shite that you can get".

So my manifold will be getting made by them,as well as a few other tubular bits and bobs :)

For the price you might aswell get the SSAC/XS-power. Mine lasted a few years and it's still only the flexi that's split.

Because he want's you to fork out your hard earned on his products

lol, it's not like that at all. these guy works on all types of vehicles, but likes the american stuff, and he told me exactly what i should have, and he said 2.25" is the best, 2.5" wont do anything.

the company specialises in exhausts and has done many titanium ones as well, and for them being a well established name in the business, i'm sure they're not gonna get that by lying to their customers... and i had to wait 6 weeks on a waiting list before my car got the treatment, and again that speaks for itself... these arent your average welders..

and because they're chrome plated to look shiney and attractive, it makes us more attracted to buy em

How can he say that 2.25" is the best and 2.5" won't do anything?

On an SR20DE, it has been proven many times that 2.5" is better than 2.25".

different amounts of back pressure. i do feel a lot more power, well, that's if the clutch ever stops slipping

i didn't say what to do, i just said you're the expert, make me happy

2.5" for the win ;). from the manifold back on mine is 2.5", made by A.A.S :) even the inlet/outlet diametre of my de-cat is 2.5" and goes to over 3" in middle:)

good for N/A cars though dave..

did you buy the sports cat for yours syms? i got a manifold back as well from AAS, but the tatty old cat makes it look poo :(

nah i just got a big de-cat from a pulsar gtir :) just the downpipe and cat-back are A.A.S with a hotshot gen 6 mani :) will be ditching the downpipe etc once my turbo get's plonkled in, as it won't line up with the turbo elbow :(

not even if they chop it a bit? bit of a shitter if you need a new one!

fancy a VVL block first, £900 shipped, and maybe get those to put it in, and put some shiney pipes on it too :p

Oh fuck not the backpressure crap again!

Backpressure has got nothing to do with it, it's all about gas flow velocity, scavanging and pulse timing. Making a exhaust manifold/header is NOTHING like making a cat-back exhaust, do they specialise in headers ?? .....and just because they are busy doesn't make them good, it just shows that all the chavs probably go there :p

Btw, the SSAC aren't chrome plated, they are stainless ;)

A 2.5" crush bent system is only as good as a 2.25" mandrel one....alot also depends on the fabricator.

My SSAC cracked in a bend right after the cylinder. Amazingly the flexi is still spotless though!? My dad welded the crack up (it's on the Primera now, after the standard downpipe for it snapped one day and I noticed the SSAC and its downpipe was still kicking about my garage) and even more amazingly, the weld has held! I'd have expected that kinda heatcycling that occurs right at the first bend the exhaust gasses take would have defeated the weld within a week, since my dad doesn't have much experience with stainless steel welding...

If it's where I think it is, then it was probably the pipe seam that split. I know Shaun's split there too.

That's about the only SSAC ones I've heard about splitting though whereas you're always hearing about HS ones cracking but still they are raved about.

could have been the wrong kind of stainless used if it cracked. T304 is on mine, while there are other grades suitable, ive been told it would be fine. different grades have different materials added. more chromium would have made it stronger, but brittle with all the heat, then sulphur and things like that do all kinds of things
