0-w30???

was on the castrol site before (bored no work or woman to do!) and it says that edge 0-w30 was the best for a n15gti? is this true? it had magnatec
10-w40 for its 2nd choice i thoght 10-w40 was the blood for our beasts!

halfords part synthetic 10w40 is on offer at the moment, £9.50 for 5 litres! meant to be pretty decent from what i have heard, i know someone on NPOC thinks its made his a bit quietter and it all comes from the same place really, just different additives but i think most of the major brands are pretty much the same oil.

If anything it will actually be better! 10w40 is way too thick in the winter, the engine isnt properly lubricated on startup because the oil is so thick, takes longer to get around the engine. Plus the 0w30 is fully synthetic which is good if you want to look after your engine.

I would have put it in my car this autumn but it was pricey:(

How many more times to we have to say that 0w-30 is to thin and the best stuff is 10w-30

If you want to put 0w in feel free it is your engine if you want to fuck it !!!!!!

lol, I doubt this will be the last time mate!

So why do they recommend it if its not good for our engine? If it damaged our engine it would be bad for business because we wouldn't buy it again...

Nissan don't recommend it, A oil company might but that is up to them. They just want a sale at the end of the day !!!

is it not true that oil that is to thin can have a sort of "flush out" effect on your engine which can cause problems for seal's etc which have been effectively blocked by gunge??? i was warned not to use oil thats to thin

my grandad use some 0w30 recomended by an oil company on his Honda pan-european way to thin had to get his seals replaced and the oil removed from its system. cost an arm and a leg. he was a bit pissed to say the least.
